AFTER its last two summer fetes fell victim to the British weather, a Halesowen school is doing something quite different this year.

The unpredictable climate has forced Hurst Green Primary School’s PTA into coming up with a new way of celebrating the end of the school year, and the group has chosen to host a big top circus.

Visitors are invited to roll up to the circus for refreshments from 4.45pm on Friday (June 30), before the show starts at 6pm.

Gloria Coton, a member of the PTA, said: “Instead of our usual summer fete, this year we are having a circus big top on the school field to do a show.

“We have decided to do a circus to beat the unpredictable British summer as our last two fetes were rainy washouts.”

Tickets to the circus are available on the door, or from the school office, for £8 per person or £27 for a family of four.
