PEOPLE can step back in time and find out how Black Country folk kept fit in the olden days.

Visitors to the Black Country Living Museum can race, jump and skip their way through some traditional sports from July 22 to September 3 between 10am and 5pm.

Outdoor games are guaranteed to get the heart racing and costumed demonstrators will be on hand to help get the old-fashioned fun started.

The Tipton Road museum will also have a sports trail around the 26 acre site, where facts about the Black Country's sporting stars and the area's vibrant and often quirky sporting history are waiting to be uncovered.

Throughout August, the museum will also be extending its opening hours until 8pm.

Families can grab a fish and chip supper or enjoy a picnic in the park and take part in a different themed activity each evening.

Activities will include the chance to get up close to birds of prey, a circus skills workshop and a Victorian PE lesson but a full list and dates can be found online at www.bclm.co.uk.

Every full-paying daytime visitor will receive the museum's Unchained annual pass, allowing them to visit as many times as they like for 12 months, excluding events that require pre-booking and courses.

Those who want to pop in just for the late night evenings will pay £5 per person after 4pm but the pass is not included in this promotional offer
