HUNDREDS of people are once again expected to turn Haden Hill House red, white and blue as the museum prepares to host its popular ‘Proms in the Park’.

The annual live music event will return to the Cradley Heath park in September to round of a fabulous summer of events and activities for all ages.

Proms in the Park will this year take place at 2pm on Sunday, September 10, in front of the house, and the event normally attracts hundreds of visitors, who bring picnics, chairs and blankets and sit for the afternoon and enjoy the various bands and singers who are performing.

Alison Hyatt, visitor services officer at Haden Hill House, who organised the free event, said: “Live music always creates a great atmosphere with people enjoying a variety of music and a rousing brass band.

“The event kicks off with Martinique Jazz, followed by easy listening songs with lots of tunes you’ll know and love from both acts. The afternoon concludes with a fabulous rousing time with Halesowen Brass band with lots of flag waving finishing at 6pm.

“The Friends of Haden Hill Estate will be offering their usual fabulous cakes, drinks and snacks in our tearoom and Haden Old Hall will also be open for visitors to look around.”

The event also co-insides with national Heritage Open Days which aim to celebrate and showcase England’s heritage across the country.

Alison added: “This event is a great celebration for the local community to enjoy, so bring your flags, hats and a picnic.”
