CHARITABLE staff at a Blackheath supermarket have kicked off their year of fundraising for newly supported cause – Edwards Trust.

Sainsbury’s Blackheath selected the bereavement group as its ‘Charity of the Year’, with their 12 month partnership hoping to not only raise much needed funds for the cause, but raise awareness as well.

Jo Thatcher, PR ambassador for the store, said: “We are looking forward to a great year and have many fundraising ideas in the pipeline.”

During the weekend, the Birmingham-based charity collected £715 in the store and reached out to parents and grandparents who did not know it existed.

More information about the charity is available at www.edwardstrust.org.uk.

Edwards Trust was set up in 1989 and provides bereavement services including one to one counselling, support groups and retreats to more than 600 families in the West Midlands every year.
