THE public can hear how health services are run across Sandwell as an upcoming meeting of the borough’s health chiefs.

NHS Sandwell and West Birmingham CCG’s governing body are meeting on Wednesday (September 6) from 1.45pm to 3.45pm at The Board Room, in 2F Kingston House, West Bromwich.

The governing body meets monthly to discuss its progress as a CCG and provide an opportunity for local people to see how health services are developing and improving for the benefit of patients.

Dr Nick Harding, CCG chairman, said: “These meetings are an ideal opportunity for local people to hear how we are working to improve health services in Sandwell.

“It’s important that patients have a much greater say in their healthcare and there are a number of ways that they can do that. Most of our GP practices now have a patient participation group which allows patients to work with the practice to ensure services are meeting the needs of local patients.

“We have also established Patient Summits, which give clinicians in localities access to a wider network of patients, their carers and organisations who advocate on their behalf.”

The CCG’s engagement team also run patients network meetings which are an open forum of local residents, patients and community groups with an interest in health.
