A gutsy team of fundraising cyclists have raised more than £20,000 after a 'barmy ride' from Stourbridge to Land's End.

Stourbridge window cleaner Martin Whelan organised the 330-mile 'Barmy Ride to Land's End' in aid of the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity - having successfully completed a similar 110-mile charity cycle from Stourbridge to Barmouth last year.

A Yankee Candle thief has been sent to prison for six weeks.

Sarah Louise Jones, of Heath Green, Dudley, stole the candles, worth £49.02, from B&M Bargains in Dudley on September 11. 

The 37-year-old must also pay a victim surcharge of £115.

Churchgoers in Halesowen have been celebrating the official opening of Lifecentral Church’s new 400 seat auditorium.

During the weekend, hundreds of people were involved in marking the launch of the Little Cornbow-based church’s new home – just two years on from their old base being destroyed by fire.

A TV builder from Bromsgrove flew into a 'Godzilla rage' before he was arrested outside a Redditch McDonalds, his estranged wife told a court.

Huntley Thawe, 40, from Channel 4's Renovation Game, denies using threatening behaviour, obstructing a constable and two counts of assaulting a police officer on April 15 this year.

The father-of-two was picking up his children, aged six and nine, from Anna Thawe in the Clews Road car park, when they got into a row.

The family of a Redditch teenager tragically killed on the Coventry Highway have been left touched by the support for their crash barrier campaign, after it was handed to the council with thousands of signatures.

2841 people backed the petition for crash barriers on all dual carriageways in Redditch, which was launched in the memory of their "fantastic, caring and funny" son and brother Ollie Sellers.

The 19-year-old died after a head-on two-car collision on the A4023 Coventry Highway in May, with his family asserting he would still be alive today had crash barriers been in place.

Neighbours described their shock waking up to find a murder investigation underway in their quiet Bewdley street.

Police were called to reports of a disturbance at an address in Cherry Close shortly before 11.30pm on Sunday (September 17), and arrived to find a 45-year-old man in cardiac arrest with knife wounds to his neck and abdomen.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed two ambulances were sent to the scene at 11.39pm, but the victim was pronounced dead shortly after.
