A DUDLEY man who was caught with a kitchen knife has been given a suspended sentence.

Ian Joseph Oliver, aged 47, of Wolverhampton Street, was sent to prison for six months, suspended for 12 months, for possessing the weapon in Wednesbury on August 15.

He must pay a victim surcharge of £115 and £180 court costs.

The following also appeared before Dudley Magistrates Court between September 15 and 21:

Ian Matthew Marsh, aged 48, of Hellier Street, Dudley, was discharged conditionally for 12 months for being drunk and disorderly in Dudley on September 1. He must pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £100 court costs.

Richard Luke Morgan, aged 27, of Teasdale Way, Wollescote, was discharged conditionally for 12 months for being drunk and disorderly in Withymoor on September 2. He must pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £135 court costs.

Gavin Robert Clarke, aged 35, of The Parade, Cradley Heath, was fined £25 for stealing meat, worth £45, from One Stop, Dudley, on July 6. He must pay compensation of £45 and £30 victim surcharge.

Paul Dean, aged 46, of Cochrane Road, Dudley, was given a 12 month community order for assaulting a man in Brierley Hill on May 9. He was also sentenced for being in charge of a motor vehicle in Dudley on September 16 when he had 46mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs. He was given 10 penalty points and fined £100. He must also pay a victim surcharge of £85 and £620 court costs.

Benjamin Charles Vance, aged 36, of Lyndsey Place, Brierley Hill, was discharged conditionally for 10 months for stealing items, worth £99.42, from shops in Brierley Hill on September 8 and 16. He must pay a victim surcharge of £20, compensation of £84.42 and £134 court costs.

Cregan Alan Peter Piesley, aged 24, of Alexander Hill, Quarry Bank, was sent to prison for 16 weeks for causing £2,000 worth of damage to a car in Cradley on April 6. He was also sentenced for stealing cider, worth 89p, from Aldi, Brierley Hill on June 22 and failing to surrender to Dudley Magistrates Court on July 7, having been released on bail. Piesley was also sentenced for causing £3,600 worth of damage to a police van in Brierley Hill on May 5, using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause a person to believe that violence would be used in Dudley on August 10 and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour in Dudley on August 10 with intent to cause harassment, alarm or distress. He must pay compensation of £150 and a victim surcharge of £115.

Danielle Sarah Anne Turford, aged 33, of Wolverhampton Street, Dudley, was given an eight week community order for stealing baby milk, worth £11, from Boots, Dudley, on September 11. She was also fined £100 for committing the offence during the operational period of a suspended sentence order. She was given an eight week curfew and for the duration, must remain at her home address between 7pm and 7am. She must pay compensation of £11, a victim surcharge of £85 and £135 court costs.

Paul John Beach, aged 48, of Greenwood Avenue, Oldbury, was fined £400, for failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis during the course of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence, in Oldbury on September 9. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and must pay a victim surcharge of £40 and £135 court costs.

Brajan Cezary Dawid, aged 24, of Clay Lane, Oldbury, was fined £600 for drink driving in Oldbury on September 10. When tested, he had 84mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs. He was also sentenced for driving without a licence or insurance. He was disqualified from driving for 20 months and must pay a victim surcharge of £30 and £135 court costs.

Daniel Williams, aged 36, of Wolverhampton Street, Dudley, was given a six month community order for stealing meat, worth £96, from Asda, Dudley, on September 12 and 20. He was given a six week curfew and for the duration must remain at his home address between 7pm and 7am. He must pay £60 compensation, a victim surcharge of £85 and £135 court costs.
