BLACK Country poetry will bring the ‘loffs’ to Halesowen Library as the region’s funny verse is explored at a special event.

David Bartley will be talking on the topic ‘Black Country Humour in Verse’ as a returning guest speaker at Halesowen History Society’s Christmas meeting on Thursday, December 7.

Carol Taylor, group secretary, said: “As it is our Christmas meeting, we will have refreshments, a free raffle and our speaker will be David Bartley.

“Members may remember Dave from last year. This will be part two of his Black Country poetry.”

Meeting at the Shenstone Theatre in the Cornbow Centre-based library, the group’s talk begins at 7.15pm with an admission charge of £2 for non-members.
