A TEENAGER suffered multiple broken bones after crashing a car into a wall in Oldbury at the weekend.

The man, believed to be 18, required emergency treatment from paramedics at the scene of the crash, in Birchfield Lane, on Saturday afternoon (December 16).

Emergency services swarmed to the incident, which took place between the junctions with Throne Road and Borough Crescent, at 12.15pm.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent three ambulances to the scene, alongside an air ambulance from Cosford, a MERIT doctor, paramedic officers and HART paramedics.

They treated three people for injuries before taking two of the patients to hospital.

An ambulance service spokesman said: “One man believed to be 18, who was the driver of the car, suffered multiple fractures and was given emergency trauma care at the scene.

“He was fully immobilised and given oxygen before being taken on blue lights to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

“The second patient was the passenger of the car, a man in his 20s, who suffered knee injuries.

“Despite his injuries he refused treatment at the scene, but walked himself to the ambulance where he was taken to Sandwell Hospital.

“The third patient was not taken to hospital.”
