A Dudley man strangled a teenager during a perverted sex session before stashing her body in a wardrobe he covered in clingfilm, a jury has been told.

"What may have begun consensually ended in a violent sex attack," and it resulted in the death of 17-year-old Stourbridge teenager Megan Bills, alleged Crispin Aylett QC, prosecuting at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

Four people have been charged in connection with the death of a 20-year-old Quarry Bank woman who fell from a car bonnet on a Dudley supermarket car park.

Ellie Underhill, of Shearwater Drive, died a week after suffering head injuries in the incident which happened on the car park at Tesco Extra, off Birmingham Road, on Boxing Day 2016.

Chairman Andy Pountney says Stourbridge FC may have to leave the War Memorial Ground to realise its potential.

The Glassboys' chief also warned he could be forced to walk away if ground development issues can't be resolved with landlords Dudley Council sooner rather than later.

The new year has sparked Pountney to push for a solution to the on-going issue over their lease at the Amblecote site.

Tributes have been paid to a man who died after being stabbed in Dudley at the weekend.

Jaskaran Kang, from Handsworth, was pronounced dead at a flat in Stourbridge Road on Saturday morning (January 6).

Allegations of misconduct and improper behaviour against Councillor Mahboob Hussain are being heard this week despite a last ditch attempt to adjourn the proceedings.

Cllr Hussain’s barrister submitted a letter to the council requesting an adjournment on the count of medical grounds.

However, the misconduct hearing is going ahead in the absence of the Oldbury councillor after standards committee members concluded – after a three-and-a-half hour, behind closed doors discussion – they had “no confidence” in him ever appearing.

Four men have been arrested in Redditch after knives and drugs were seized during a pre-planned search of their vehicle.

The men, all aged in their 20s, were stopped by officers from the Operations Patrol Unit while travelling on the A441.
