SUPPORTERS of Halesowen Town have come out in force to give their backing to the Black Country Foodbank.

At the team’s final home game of 2017, Yeltz fans donated many tables worth of food, drink and other items to the charity which helps vulnerable individuals and families in crisis.

The collection, held for the third year by The Friends of The Grove Supporters Association in conjunction with the football club, was postponed from its original date.

A collection was due to be held before Christmas before the match was cancelled, leading to a rearranged collection during the game against Buxton on December 30.

Yeltz supporter Rob Lloyd, who is also manager of Halesowen Town U12s junior team, said: “We want to thank the supporters of Halesowen Town FC who donated lots of items to go to Black Country Foodbank.

“This will hopefully help many people in the locality throughout January.

“This is the third year the collection has been run and it’s got bigger every year.”
