A WOMAN was found dead after being hit by a train at Kidderminster train station yesterday evening (Friday, February 9).
Officers from West Mercia Police and the British Transport Police attended the incident and found the body of a woman just before 10pm last night.
The woman has not yet been identified and her death is currently being treated as “unexplained”.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: “BTP officers attended the line near to Kidderminster Railway Station on Friday, February 9, following a report of a person being struck by a train.
“Officers from BTP and the West Mercia Police attended the incident, which was reported to police at 9.51pm, and the body of a woman was discovered.
“Enquiries are continuing to establish the identity of the woman and the circumstances leading up to her death.”
They added: “A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
