MENTAL Health leaders across Sandwell are coming together in Rowley Regis to lead a discussion on borough services.

Sandwell’s Mental Health People’s Parliament is urging members of the public with an interest in mental health or questions about services to attend its round table event on Friday, March 9.

Taking place at The Westminster School in Curral Road, the meeting brings together The People’s Parliament – a strategic body made up of local people with current or recent lived experience of mental health difficulties – with Sandwell Council, Sandwell and West Birmingham CCG and Black Country Mental Health Foundation Trust, to shape policy, practice and services in the borough.

At the next event, there will be a particular focus on mental health care when someone is experiencing a crisis at evenings and weekends.

Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about future opportunities and plans for improvement.

Event chairman James Morris, Halesowen and Rowley Regis MP, said: “Talking about mental health is an important step for many people to help try and find the support and advice they need, and events like this allow people to help shape local services.

“Changing Our Lives have been doing some really positive work in Sandwell and have been challenging the way services are delivered.

“I am hoping this event will bring together ideas from all those who have an interest in mental health and develop a plan for improvement.”
