A 52-YEAR-Old Cradley Heath man has been jailed for seven months for historic sex attacks on a schoolgirl which happened more than 20 years ago.

Judge Barry Berlin told Andrew Lusted – who was described as being of "positive good character" – it was clear he had specifically targeted his vulnerable victim, adding: “You cynically planned these offences.”

He said Lusted had taken steps to ensure he had not been disturbed when he was with the young girl, and said: “These offences are just too serious for anything other than an immediate custodial sentence.”

Lusted, of Harcourt Road, Old Hill, had admitted two charges of indecent assault on the girl between December 1992 and March 1995 and he was further ordered to register as a sex offender for 10 years.

The judge said the girl had described in a victim impact statement how the offences had badly affected her education and her life into adulthood.

“These offences were obviously a long time ago but they have stayed with her,” he added at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

He said Lusted committed one offence after showing the girl pictures of naked women and she had suffered some psychological harm.

The court was told by Samantha Powis, defending, that Lusted was a man with no previous convictions.
