A GORNAL doctor accused of carrying out sex attacks on five female patients has been found not guilty.

Amirul Haque was alleged to have exposed women's breasts and thrust his groin area into their bodies during examinations for his own sexual gratification.

The doctor had pleaded not guilty to five charges of sexual assault, alleged to have been carried out while he was on placement at the surgery in Gornal.

He had stressed to the jury at Wolverhampton Crown Court that everything he did during the consultations was part of appropriate treatment for their complaints which included swollen ankles, earache and an eye infection.

The five-man seven-woman panel first retired to begin their deliberations last Wednesday but were disrupted due to appointments and weather conditions.

However this afternoon (Tuesday) they cleared the 33-year-old, of Ladypool Road, Balsall Heath, Birmingham, of all five charges.
