GOOD morning. We are here to provide any information on incidents that might crop up throughout the rush hour period this morning on our Black Country and North Worcestershire roads.
So far the roads across the area are pretty quiet, traffic is heavy in Oldbury on A4123 Wolverhampton Road southbound at A4034 Churchbridge (Birchley Island), while there is also delays in Amblecote on A491 High Street southbound before A451 Bath Road and St Johns Road in Stourbridge.
There is also heavy traffic in Kidderminster on A456 Birmingham Road between A449 Chester Road North (Land Oak traffic lights) and A451 The Ringway / Coventry Street (Kidderminster Medical Centre), while traffic is queueing on A451 Stourport Road into town between Northumberland Avenue and A442 Worcester Road / Green Street / New Road.
There are areas of planned roadworks which are causing delays, they include:
Speed restriction of 30 mph and one lane closed due to major roadworks and contraflow on M5 both ways between J1 (West Bromwich / Birmingham) and J2 (Oldbury). Work on the Oldbury Viaduct means that all traffic is sharing one side of the road as a contraflow.
One lane is closed due to roadworks on M5 Northbound between J4 A38 (Bromsgrove / Stourbridge) and J3 A456 (Halesowen / Birmingham) for barrier and lighting repairs, while there are speed restriction of 20 mph in Pensnett due to roadworks and temporary traffic lights on A4101 High Street at High Oak.
There are temporary traffic lights and roadworks on Doulton Road in Rowley Regis between Powke Lane / Gawne Lane and Cornfield Road, while in Stourbridge, Parkfield Road is closed due to bridge maintenance work between Burnt Oak Drive and Vauxhall Road. The road is closed in the short one-way section on the bridge over the railway line near Stourbridge Town station.
There are speed restriction of 40 mph due to roadworks on A38 southbound in Lickey between M5 J4 (Bromsgrove / Stourbridge) and Barley Mow Lane, while there is speed restriction of 30 mph due to roadworks on A38 Stoke Road westbound in Stoke Heath between Sherwood Road and B4094 Worcester Road in Stoke Heath.
Elsewhere, in Oldbury there are roadworks and temporary traffic lights on Mallin Street between A457 Oldbury Road / A4031 Spon Lane South and B4169 St Paul's Road / West Park Road, while Green Street is closed both ways due to a burst water main and emergency repairs between Stone Street and A457 Birmingham Road.
