POLICE have launched an investigation after a man was found stabbed in a flat in Oldbury following a “targeted attack”.

Officers from West Midlands Police were called to the property on Badsey Road at around 9.15am on Friday morning (March 30) where they discovered a 20-year-old man with stab injuries.

A police spokesman said: “Witnesses have been spoken to, and specialist officers have carried out house to house and forensic enquiries at the scene.

“This was a targeted attack and arresting the individual responsible is a priority; a team of officers are working to locate him.”

Police called West Midlands Ambulance Service to the incident at 9.19am following reports of an assault at the address.

The ambulance service sent two ambulances and a paramedic officer to the scene where they treated a man for stab wounds to his shoulder and hand.

An ambulance service spokesman said the man was fully conscious when he was taken to hospital, while police report that he was in a “serious but stable” condition.
