THE man who died in a horror smash on a busy Black Country motorway has been named as Brian Harper.
West Midlands Police confirmed the 61-year-old from Wednesbury died in the crash between a lorry and a car on the M5 Southbound on Monday (April 2).
A force spokesman said the father-of-four was driving between junction 2 at Oldbury and junction 3 at Halesowen when he is believed to have suffered "a medical alert at the wheel".
The incident happened at around 5.15am and the road was closed for a number of hours while emergency services worked at the scene and the central reservation barrier was repaired.
