A WOMAN died following a crash between a car and a lorry on the M5 this morning (Tuesday, April 10).

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the scene between junction three for Bromsgrove/Stourbridge and junction four for Halesowen at 4.24am.

One ambulance, a paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma doctor attended, but “nothing could be done” to save the woman’s life.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews discovered a woman in the car, who was found to be in cardiac arrest.

“Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.

“The lorry driver, a man, was uninjured in the incident and discharged at the scene.”

West Mercia Police is now appealing for drivers who were travelling near Frankley Services at the time of the crash to come forward.

A spokesman for the force said: "We are particularly keen to hear from people who may have dash cam footage.

"Please get in touch to share what you saw. Even the smallest piece of information could help our investigation into this incident."

Call police on 101, quoting incident number 52s.
