TWO puppies were found abandoned in a bush in Kingswinford.

A member of the public witnessed a man and a woman dump the puppies in Stallings Lane at around 3.15pm on April 1 before driving off in a BMW.

They retrieved the puppies and took them home before calling the RSPCA.

RSPCA inspector Vicki Taylor said: “The puppies are in reasonable health thankfully, but it does not make any sense at all why they were callously abandoned like this.

"Thankfully they were seen being abandoned so the member of the public was able to rescue them - although it doesn’t bear thinking about what could have happened to them if they had not been found.

“They have been taken to our animal centre in Birmingham, where staff nicknamed them Bonnie and Clyde."

She continued: “We are very keen to speak to anyone who can help us identify the two people who abandoned the puppies.

"Abandoning animals like this is completely unacceptable. We’re just thankful that the dogs were found and can now have a second chance at life.”

Anyone who has any information should call the RSPCA’s appeals line on 0300 123 8018.
