WE'RE celebrating the huge success of our News Group Camera Club by launching our first ever competition - giving YOU the chance to show off your photographic skills and be in the running to win a prize to treasure forever!

We want you to submit your pictures of iconic local landmarks or views which you feel sum up what is great about your hometowns.

The subject matter is entirely up to you - commemorative statues, landmark buildings, stunning scenic views - just so long as they're from within the areas we cover.

And the winning entrant will receive a professionally printed and framed 18-inch by 12-inch print of their successful entry, worth around £50, courtesy of our competition partners at Dunns Imaging Group Ltd, of Chester Road, Cradley Heath!

Entries should be posted on our News Group Camera Club facebook page (search News Group Camera Club on facebook and ask to join if you're not already a member) and captioned ICONIC VIEWS: followed by a brief description of what the picture is of and where.

It can be a photo you take now specifically for the competition, or an older favourite you're particularly proud of, and you can submit as many different entries as you like.

Pete Wallace, News Group assistant editor, said: "We believe we have a great deal to be proud of in the heritage, history and natural beauty of our local areas, and our ICONIC VIEWS competition is a great way to pay tribute to this, while giving our print and online readers the opportunity to be in with a chance of winning a fantastic prize, and having some fun along the way.

"We'd like to thank Dunns Imaging for joining up with us to launch this competition and offering such a superb prize - so get out there and get your entries in!"

Catherine Peakman, marketing manager at Dunns Imaging, said: "We are delighted to support the News Group Camera Club competition, celebrating the best in local photographic talent.

"There have been some really amazing photographs submitted to the groups so far and choosing a winner will be a tough call I'm sure!

"As images always look better in print, Dunns are proud to be professionally printing and framing the chosen photographs for the deserved winners."

The closing date is midnight on Saturday May 5 and the winning entry will be chosen by members of our staff and Catherine at Dunns Imaging.

Of course, we still want you to continue submitting Camera Club pictures as normal, and remember, we welcome all kinds of pictures - news shots, events, scenery, wildlife, whatever inspires you snap away, and you can also submit videos.
