Sandwell Council has launched a new campaign to fill the 2,000 empty private sector homes in the borough.
Council officials are working with property owners and providing them with information to bring their empty properties into use.
Councillor Mahboob Hussain, cabinet member for neighbourhoods, said: "Our mission is to tackle Sandwell's empty private sector properties by enabling their re-occupation, or we have considerable powers to deal with long-term dilapidated empty properties, such as compulsory purchase orders.
"Empty properties are not only a wasted resource but are also a cause for concern, they can become dangerous and are often eyesores that spoil the look of the neighbourhood. To report a vacant property call 0121 569 5788.
