CHILDREN can take part in fun and games at borough leisure centres during the Whitsun holidays.

The Dudley Council owned facilities will be hosting a jam packed week of fun from Saturday, May 26 to Sunday, June 3.

The Crystal Leisure Centre’s swimming pool - complete with slides, waves, bubble seat and rapids – will be open from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Saturdays and 8am to 6pm Sundays.

There will also be a bondi-beat water disco with live DJ on June 1 from 3.30pm to 6pm.

Youngsters aged seven and under can crawl, step, or run their way around the soft play suite throughout the week. Qualified staff supervise the area, but parents must remain with their children. Entrance costs £2.60 per child and parents are asked to check opening times before their visit.

A crèche is also available on May 29 from 9.30am to 12.30pm and June 1, from 9.30am to 12noon costing £4.50 per child.

Over at Dudley Leisure Centre, there will be two full days of junior activezone fun on May 29 and 31. Suitable for children aged between eight and 12, the activities will run from 9am to 4pm including multi skills, football, basketball, rounders, crafts, swimming and more.

It costs £20 per day, per child and a parental consent form must be completed prior to participation. Youngsters will need to bring packed lunches, refreshments and a plastic drinks bottle.

Meanwhile, at Halesowen Leisure Centre, juniors can take advantage of the £7 for seven days offer to receive unlimited access between 9am and 5pm every day.

Activities include use of the swimming pools, fun aqua run and float sessions, plus use of the squash courts and table tennis. Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult, and height and swimming ability restrictions apply to the aqua run sessions.

The popular aqua run with inflatables and obstacles will run from 1.15pm to 3pm on May 29 and 31 and is suitable for children aged eight years and over. Children must be at least 1.2 metres tall and pass a swimming test (between 1.15pm and 1.30pm) before participating.

A fun float pool session suitable for all ages will be running in both pools during the week. The sessions will take place on May 29 and 31 from 1.30pm – 3pm in the learner pool and on June 1 from 1.15pm - 3pm in the main pool and 1.30pm to 3pm in the learner pool.

The session costs £4.30 for adults and £2.80 for under 16s, with a 50 per cent discount for Options+ leisure card holders.

Both centres’ swimming pools will be open throughout the school holidays and people are asked to check opening times and session details before arrival.

Juniors under the age of 16 can also receive a 50 per cent discount off the full adult price on a no booking advance basis for court sports. All participants must be under the age of 16. Equipment is provided. This offer is subject to availability.
