A Cradley Heath woman has celebrated her 100th birthday with a brass band and a card from the Queen.
Lily Tromans, of The Crescent, celebrated the milestone occasion on August 14 with friends and family.
The Salvation Army band were also on hand to lead the celebrations for their oldest member, as they visited her house to play her favourite hymns.
Daughter-in-law Helen said: "Lily has lived a long and interesting life."
She worked as a tailoress for most of her life and enjoyed to knit, sew and crochet in her free time up until she started to lose her sight.
A local girl all of her life, Lily has only ever lived in Old Hill and Cradley Heath.
Since the death of her husband Samuel, nearly 50-years-ago, Lily has remained independently in her home, with the help of carers and her family.
She has one son, John and one grand-daughter Elizabeth.
The family celebrated the occasion by presenting Lily with a cake and flowers and spending the day with her at home.
