THE sun shone, the crowds came and a toast was made to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during another record year at an event in Quinton.

As part of the Quinton Methodist Church Art and Craft Festival, an incredible total of £4,600 was raised for the church’s annual supported project, which this year is the locally based Haven Community Project.

Plants, paintings, and an abundance of people who came through the doors of the church all helped to make the festival another roaring success.

Helena Taylor, church member, said: “The church wishes to thank everyone in the community who came to support the event, to James Morris, the MP for Halesowen and Rowley Regis, the Bhangra Smash Up Band, and John Barber with Enchant and Paul Edwards who got the festival off to a great start with their concert on the Friday evening.”

The church opens its doors throughout the week to various community groups, including thriving Girl’s Brigade and Boy’s Brigade companies who meet on a Monday and Wednesday night respectively where all young people from school age upwards are invited to attend.
