A GROUP of Muslim ladies from Cradley Heath are supporting food poverty both locally and worldwide while they fast during the month of Ramadan.

As part of their efforts, the group are holding a charity food sale this Saturday (June 9) to help the Community Link Foodbank feed those less fortunate.

Lotifa Khatun said: “During Ramadan we actively take part in charity and give special consideration to the hungry.

“The beauty of this particular event is that the ladies are running it at the Community Link in Cradley Heath.

“The Muslim group would like to see people of all faiths and backgrounds in the community come together to celebrate our differing faiths and diversity and contribute to a great cause.

“The Community Link in Cradley Heath run a fantastic food bank which helps those who are facing difficult times, and we would really like to support them in continuing their great work.”

People can attend the event between 5pm and 6.30pm at the High Street venue – located next door to Iceland – while donations for the food sale can be made from 4.30pm.
