STOURBRIDGE motorists should brace themselves for delays this month as resurfacing work is set to start on the Hagley Road.

The resurfacing will be consigned to a stretch of Hagley Road situated between Glasshouse Hill and Worcester Lane.

A one-way system will be in operation while the work takes place, which is scheduled to start on July 12, as well as on July 13, 16 to 19.

The one-way system will be in operation from 9.30am until 3pm on each day while the work is taking place, before reverting back to a two-way flow system.

Letters will be sent to affected residents and businesses while signage will be put in place to advise all motorists.

Homes and businesses will be accessible during the work, except when the work is being undertaken on the immediate entrances to businesses.

Cllr Karen Shakespeare, Dudley Council’s cabinet member for environmental services, said: “We hope to minimise disruption to motorists and ask all road users to bear with us during this work.”

There will be diversions in place for northbound traffic between Ham Lane, Grange Lane, Pedmore Road, Dudley Road, Thorns Road, Mount Pleasant, Delph Road, Brettell Lane, Collis Street, High Street Amblecote and St Johns Road.

Access to frontages will be maintained where safe to do so.
