A CHARITY fundraiser in memory of a murdered Halesowen man takes place at a pub in Wordsley this weekend.
The Bird in Hand, on John Street, will host a charity fun day on Sunday (July 8) to raise money for SAMM (Support After Murder and Manslaughter) in memory of Benjamin Morse who was murdered in Halesowen in May 2017.
Mr Morse died from horrific head injuries after being mowed down by Nidal Alboraiki, who was jailed for life last October after being found guilty of murder by a jury.
Fundraisers hope to raise £5,000 by September to pay towards a retreat which gets families of victims together to share thoughts and memories, helping to support each other and cope with their losses.
This Sunday’s fun day will feature a dog show, live music, food, games, a penalty shoot-out, a darts competition, plus a raffle and silent auction for football tickets and signed Premier League footballs.
The fun day starts at 12noon.
