A COMMUNITY group led by the three Halesowen North councillors is having a bumper Black Country Day celebration on Saturday (July 14).

Shell Corner Partnership’s day kicks off at 10am with a table top sale at St Paul’s Church Hall in Vicarage Road to raise funds for this year’s Christmas lights.

The popular ‘Councillors’ Table’ will also be there, with all the funds raised by their table going into the work of the partnership.

Later in the day, the community is invited to visit Shell Corner to sample the food and drink on offer in the area.

The event will start at 2pm with Lapal Community Choir entertaining everyone at The Shel-ter.

A leaflet with the details of the businesses taking part will be available from The Shel-ter and on Shell Corner Partnership Facebook page.

Rev Mike Sermon, chairman of Shell Corner Partnership, who runs the group alongside councillors Karen Shakespeare, Hilary Bills and Joe Roberts, said: “It’s great to see the three ward councillors working together for the good of the community and I hope everyone makes an effort to support them.”
