PERFORMING Arts students at Halesowen College have raised the roof with their special production of The Addams Family.

Based on the unusual family, the story tells the tale of daughter Wednesday Addams falling in love with a boy who is brought into the family home.

There were lots of twists and turns and the students sang, danced and acted their way through the many comedy moments.

The cast worked in the college’s new Block 13 theatre to bring the production to life, creating the costume and set themselves as part of their course.

Chloe Turner, senior tutor at Halesowen College, said: “All the students have worked extremely hard on this production and had a great time performing.

“The students gained valuable experience in front of a live audience who really enjoyed themselves.”

The college has also been celebrating the art work of pupils from Halesbury CofE and Hurst Green primary schools by hosting a special exhibition.

The theme for the art work was local heritage and involved the pupils researching their local area and producing work.

The exhibition was opened by Deputy Mayor of Dudley and Halesowen councillor Hilary Bills, and was attended by college Principal David Williams and staff, pupils and parents from the schools.

Erika Walkington, from Halesowen College, said: “The exhibition showed a great range of work – well done to everyone involved.

“Pupils had carried out a lot of research into their local area and heritage and been very creative.”
