PEOPLE are being warned about the dangers of deliberately starting a fire in open areas following a blaze at a Dudley nature reserve.
Three crews from Dudley and Haden Cross were called to Saltwells Nature Reserve shortly before 7pm last night (July 27) to tackle a bush fire.
Fire chiefs have moved a remind people of the consequences of such incidents as well as urging people to report suspicious activity to the police.
A West Midlands Fire spokesman said: “Whilst this is now dealt with, the damage fires can cause to open areas can be massive and it often takes a lot of resources to get it under control.
“Arson is a crime. If you see someone deliberately setting a fire, report it to fire and police immediately.”
