PUNK-pop veterans The Dickies have survived line-up changes, 'untimely deaths' and gigs spent sweating in satin clown costumes in a career spanning more than 40 years.

Founding members Stan Lee and Leonard Graves Phillips still have the same energy and ferocity they had in the 70s when they were at the cusp of the burgeoning LA punk scene.

The band, who are well known for recording many fast-paced punk covers of classic rock songs, including The Moody Blues' Nights in White Satin and Black Sabbath's Paranoid, are currently on their No Sleep ‘til Bilston tour, which coincides with the 40th anniversary of their Incredible Shrinking Dickies album.

The Robin 2 gig on Monday (August 6) will be the final night of the tour, so Black Country fans can expect all the old favourites to get an airing - in addition to some new songs that will appear on their upcoming album.

Stan Lee said: “The set list will be a musical pot-pourri and as long as we do Banana Splits we'll get out alive."

The Dickies will be supported by Stourbridge band Pure Gold Babies - who will reform for one night only - and Worcester punk band Kick the Clown.

Tickets cost £15 in advance or £17 on the door.
