A CRADLEY Heath shop could have its licence to sell alcohol revoked after police discovered it was selling illegal cigarettes.
Sandwell Trading Standards officers are now 'strongly recommending' that Rayan International Mini Market, in High Street, is stripped of its right to sell beer, wine and spirits.
The call to revoke the licence comes after the shop was raided by council officers and police in September 2017.
With the aid of tobacco search dogs, officers found an undisclosed amount of non-duty paid and illicit cigarettes.
Alcohol licences require that premises comply with conditions on preventing crime and disorder.
A report to councillors on Sandwell's licensing sub-committee said: "Trading Standards strongly recommend revocation of the Premises Licence."
Councillors will make a decision at their meeting on Wednesday (August 8).
