ART lovers can vote for their favourite exhibits in Sandwell’s Hidden Treasures competition at Haden Hill House.

Amateur artists, schools and community groups entered a range of pieces for the project and now people from across the borough get their chance to vote for the ones they are most impressed by.

People were invited to create artwork inspired by their favourite buildings, open spaces, walks, views and local attractions.

The entries have been judged and shortlisted pieces will be exhibited at the Cradley Heath museum throughout August, where people can vote for their favourite piece on display.

Sandwell’s other three museums will also be exhibiting, with the winning entries from each site going on a tour of the borough.

There will also be an online vote throughout September and October, before the overall winner is revealed.

Councillor Steve Trow, Sandwell Council's cabinet member for culture and core services, said: “This scheme is a wonderful opportunity for people to show off their skills and get recognition for their efforts.

“Now local enthusiasts can get involved and express their views on how they appreciate the entries. I would urge people to get along and see the artists' efforts and to vote for their favourites.”
