FAMILY and friends of a Halesowen man who died at the young age of 36 are inviting the whole town to help raise money for charity in his memory.

Thousands of pounds are expected to be raised in honour of Andrew Sadler, who passed away in June this year from a leptomeningeal carcinoma brain tumour.

Andrew’s partner Amy Hughes is being supported by her loved ones to put on a fun day in aid of The Brain Tumour Charity at The Round of Beef pub in Cradley.

Starting at noon on Sunday, August 26, the event will feature a range of activities, a barbecue and live performers to keep the whole family entertained.

Inflatables, face painting, glitter tattoos and a fancy dress competition will be among the fun for the youngsters, while a ‘Man vs Food’ challenge and a yard of ale will be on offer for the adults.

Singer and current Miss Black Country Alexandra Darby will be among those performing at the event, as will Rachel Stone, Kymberly Myles and a George Michael and an Elvis tribute. Drag Queens and singing comedian Debbie D are also due to perform.

Funds will be raised with a tombola, a raffle and an auction, while balloons will also be released in memory of Andrew.

Andrews’ friend James Andrews, who is helping to organise the fun day, said: “There will be so much to do that we expect it to be the busiest day Colley Gate has ever seen.

“Andrew was a great person and a brilliant dad to Chloe. He is missed so much by all of his family and friends.

“We are all behind Amy and helping out as much as we can. If we can raise about £4-5,000 for the charity, then I think we would have done Andrew proud.”
