School children in Halesowen went to the top of the class after being praised by the mayor at a special Christmas carol event.
The youngsters from schools across Halesowen took part in the unveiling of the town's Christmas tree in the town centre last week.
They sang some of the most famous Christmas carols for the Mayor of Dudley, councillor David Stanley, who was guest of honour at the unveiling ceremony.
Cllr Stanley said: "This is a tradition that has taken place in the town for many years and it is always a lovely occasion.
"The children did the town very proud with their carols and made it really feel like it's Christmas."
The tree, which stands in the town centre, was donated by Halesowen engineering firm Sandvik, which has provided the tree for many years.
Children from The Earls High, Leasowes Community College, Huntingtree Primary, Halesowen C of E Primary, Manor Way Primary, Our Lady and St Kenelm RC Primary and Hasbury Primary took part in the event on Monday November 26.
