A Halesowen school football team are stepping out in style after a parent kitted them out with a brand new strip.

Youngsters at Olive Hill Primary were given the new football kit by Shahidur Rahman, owner of the Raj Spice Restaurant in Blackheath, after he saw the state of their old kit.

Mr Rahman, whose two sons attend the Springfield Road school and his nephew is part of the football squad, decided to reward the team with the smart kit after they won the Leasowes five-a-side tournament.

Chris Brady, teaching assistant at the school, and coach of the team, said: "We desperately needed a new kit as it was dwindling in number and Mr Rahman offered to sponsor a new kit for us.

"I am very pleased we can reward the children for their hard work.

"We are very grateful to him.

"The team are all very excited about wearing the new kit, and will be wearing it for the first time at the next match."
