Centuries of fun

Shoppers visiting Halesowen were able to step back in time with a number of medieval re-enactments in the town centre.
The medieval activities, organised by Dudley Council for Somers Square on Saturday May 3, included demonstrations of a medieval surgery, weapons, tile making, crafts, music and re-enactments in full costume.
Alongside the historical activities there was face painting and balloon modelling while a medieval jester and stilt walker provided fun and entertainment for all the family.
Dudley's Queen of Culture Pat Wakelam was there to welcome visitors and all activities were free of charge.
Pat said: "This was a wonderful event for Halesowen and it was a delight to be involved with it.
"There was a great turnout and with such lovely weather I am sure many people will remember the activities for a long time to come."
