Students at Halesowen College have planted more than 200 trees to mark the Queen’s Jubilee.

The Queen’s Green Canopy is a unique, UK-wide tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, by inviting people to ‘Plant a Tree for the Jubilee.’

Students planted the trees around the College to mark the Jubilee year.

The Queen’s Green Canopy aims to encourage everyone to learn more about the best way to plant trees so they survive and flourish for years to come.

Jamie Morgan-Green, Community Hub Manager at Halesowen College, said: “We have been delighted to take part in this scheme and our students have really enjoyed planting the trees for students in years to come. We have also talked to the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Sue Greenaway, about our tree planting as part of Halesowen in Bloom.”
