A COACH fire, which has caused delays for motorists in Halesowen, started in the rear engine.
Just before 8:50 am this morning (Wednesday, December 14), firefighters were called to New Road, Halesowen.
The coach fire has caused delays for motorists and bus services – X10, 9 and 19 have been diverted both ways via Queensway and McDonald’s island.

The rear engine of the single-decker coach caught fire and the fire service says the recovery of the vehicle has been arranged.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service said: "At 8.47 am on Wednesday, West Midlands Fire Service were called to a fire on New Road, Halesowen
“Firefighters from Haden Cross and Oldbury fire stations attended this incident.

“The rear engine compartment of a single-decker coach had caught fire, and firefighters used hoses and breathing apparatus to tackle the fire.”
The fire service said they stayed to work with West Midlands Police and Highways Agency to make the road safe.
