In the world there are many different types of music and different apps you can use to listen to it. I enjoy listening to music because I think it helps with my mood and gives me something to focus on. One student at my school said "Music can really change your mood. You can listen to it if you are in a bad mood or if you are going to a party." Listening to music when you are in a bad mood can make you feel really happy. 

Some different genres of music include house, pop and classical. I like to listen to different artists depending on my mood. I enjoy listening to music whilst painting and playing computer games and it can help when you’re having a really hard time like going into care or your parents or a close friend or family member passing. When I turned 12 I went into care and music helped me to cope.

Lots of artists share their own experiences and I was able to relate to some of these. Music made me feel like I wasn’t alone and helped me make friends as we liked to listen to similar songs. At school we have had some music therapy sessions and I enjoy learning how to use the instruments and play songs that we all seem to know. I would like to say thanks to all the artists that have helped me, and I’m sure many other people, during difficult times.
