A NEW yoga studio promising a ‘nurturing and welcoming environment’ has opened in Romsley.

Yoga Barn on Money Lane has opened its doors and is aiming to become the go to destination for yoga enthusiasts in the area.

Leanne Tomkins, aged 39, has been practising yoga for ten years and has recently qualified as a teacher.

She said she recognised the need for a dedicated yoga space in the Romsley community and is excited to fill the gap.

“There is nothing like this in the area and now the local community has somewhere to come and have the space to be connected,” said Leanne.

“There is something quite special about a yoga studio.”

The studio held an opening event on June 10 and featured complimentary yoga classes, guided mediations, and an opportunity to meet like-minded individuals.

Leanne, who also works as a clinical psychologist specialising in trauma, said the last week has been ‘very busy’.

She added: “It’s been so busy; we could not have asked for better – it’s been really overwhelming.

“The feedback has been mind-blowing, and I feel very lucky.

"We are thrilled with the warm reception and incredible turnout we experienced during our grand opening day.

“It means everything to us and shows that we are achieving our aim.

“There are around 14 practitioners, some of those being teachers and others who are doing workshops.

“It’s been a really big collaboration.”

The studio features state-of-the-art facilities and a variety of yoga props to enhance the practice of different yoga styles, including Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, and Restorative yoga.

In addition to regular classes for all levels seven days a week, Yoga Barn Romsley will also offer workshops and special events focused on various aspects of yoga, wellness, and personal growth.
