Afternoon Tea at Cadbury World? Don't mind if I do!

Being a Midlands native and having two children I have made the pilgrimage to the home of chocolate down the road in Bournville a couple of times before.

But I had never tried the attraction's afternoon tea option. So when the opportunity arose me and the family raced down to Cadbury World like a bunch of Mad Hatters at..well a tea party.

We arrived around mid-morning so we had time to do the tour of Cadbury World before our afternoon tea - the ticket includes admission to the main site and the 4D Chocolate Adventure cinema.

The afternoon tea is a lovely thing to do albeit for a little bit extra on the normal admission price.

It adds that extra twist to the day and gives you time to unwind and reflect on your visit all whilst indulging in some tasty Cadbury treats including macarons, chocolate brownies and rocky roads.

If that isn't enough there was also delicious little sandwiches with everything from salmon and cream cheese to cheese and pickle and ham and mustard and scones cream and jam all brought out to you in the conservatory, just off the main cafe.

And don't worry if you can't manage it all as there are handy little boxes handed out at the end to take lefttovers home.

The other aspect to the afternoon tea is the chance to meet some of the Cadbury characters, which really brings a smile to the faces of younger children.

Freddo the Frog and the Caramel Bunny were our visitors and were happy to pose for photos, high-five diners and they even enjoyed a little dance with some of the children too. On our way home we were loaded down with our chocolate haul from the factory outlet shop too (I think I have enough Curly Wurlys until 2027).

An afternoon tea and entrance to Cadbury World ticket is £26.50. There are three sittings to choose from.

Tickets must be pre-booked at cadburyworld.co.uk.

The attraction is celebrating Birmingham Heritage Week (8th – 17th September).

All visitors to Cadbury World between the 8th-15th September can enjoy a free guided walking tour of Bournville village.

During the walk, guests will learn about Bournville’s History, including a tour of the old buildings and discover the stunning village green that Bournville is renowned for.
