THE Halesowen Career Expo aims to bring together job seekers and employers next month in Halesowen.

The event will be held on Friday March 1, from 10am to 1pm, at Halesowen Cornbow Centre.

Halesowen College have joined forces with MP James Morris, Halesowen BID and the DWP to welcome key businesses from across the area, including METT Recruitment, National Careers Service, West Midlands Police, Lander Automotive, MBKB Group, Smartworks and more.

The Career Expo aims to inspire local job seekers and provide a platform for skills development and career progression opportunities through discussions with local employers.

Halesowen and Rowley Regis MP James Morris said: “Since I was first elected, fighting for better jobs and skills provision has been one of my priorities and this will be the 13th event of its kind that I have hosted. I’m delighted to be working in collaboration with the College, Halesowen BID and the DWP again for the second year running.

“We have lots of great employers and training providers joining us in the college on March 1, so I’d encourage anyone who is seeking work, or anyone looking for a new challenge, to come along and see what is on offer.”

Jacquie Carman, principal and chief executive officer at Halesowen College, said: “We are delighted to once more be involved with the Skills Fair. It is a fantastic opportunity to support local people to develop their confidence and the skills they need to get work ready and secure employment.”

Vicky Shakespeare, of Halesowen BID, added: “Following the success of last year’s Career Expo, we are excited to be partnered with James Morris, DWP and Halesowen College to bring the event back to Cornbow Shopping Centre this March.

“We recognise the need to support both job seekers and local businesses to find the right candidates for the roles. With a great range of businesses exhibiting along with learning providers we hope the event will be beneficial to all.”
