Two local entrepreneurs are celebrating their success in a “global phenomenon” of Black Country T-shirts which are proving popular from Cradley Heath to Canada.

Warren Smith and Steve Pitts opened their shop, called TeeT Shirts, on Reddal Hill Road, Cradley Heath, last year.

Since then the business has gone from strength to strength, with the retro-style T-shirts bearing Black Country slogans being shipped as far afield as Australia, Canada and Rio de Janeiro, as well as being snapped up by locals keen to wear their hearts on their sleeves - quite literally.

Shoppers can choose from T-shirts featuring diamonds of local dialect and wit, including the bestselling “Ar bay a Brummie - I’m from the Black Country”, as well as custom-made workwear and design-your-own T-shirts.

Warren and Steve, who live in Cradley Heath, came up with the idea for their shop as a way to celebrate their Black Country heritage.

Warren said: “Since we started our website TeeT Shirts have been distributed all around Europe and we’ve even had Americans and Canadians visit our shop to take home souvenirs.

“It has become a global phenomenon - our Black Country slogans are being worn all over the world.”
