James Morris, the Conservative Party prospective parliamentary candidate for Halesowen and Rowley Regis, has launched a campaign to save Halesowen post offices from closure.
Mr Morris was reacting to an announcement of the proposed closure of post offices in Long Lane, Halesowen, and Hagley Road, Hasbury.
He said: "I am launching this campaign because I believe these proposed closures are a disaster for the local residents who depend on them.
"These post offices are at the heart of their local communities and need to be protected.
"The closure of Hasbury and Long Lane post offices will also hit the elderly and the vulnerable the hardest.
"I will be campaigning with local Conservative councillors to stop these closures."
Conservative Councillors in Halesowen North Karen Shakespeare, Jeff Hill and Leslie Faulkner said: "We are delighted that James is launching this campaign.
"Local residents are angry about these proposed closures and we will do everything we can to stop them."
