A popular children's horror author visited a Halesowen school to promote his latest book.
Darren Shan, who has just released Wolf Island, dropped into Windsor High and talked to pupils.
The author, whose sales top ten million copies worldwide, also acted out scenes from his first novel Cirque du Freak with students.
School publicity officer Jane Harper said: "Pupils were excited to have such a popular and well known writer in school.
"Students were later able to ask questions and buy copies of his books which Darren signed on stage.
"It was a very popular and successful visit and inspired many to read."
Darren also presented prizes to pupils who had entered a competition to design a demon.
