Rowley Regis UFO drama revealed

An egg-shaped UFO was spotted in Rowley Regis nearly 30 years ago, secret Ministry of Defence files have revealed.

Documents recently made available online by the Natinal Archives under the Freedom of Information Act state how a woman suffered severe hallucinations after witnessing the eight foot long object land in her garden on January 4, 1979.

The account, related in a letter from an investigator for the British Research Association, says police from Oldbury and West Bromwich were called out to the incident.

It reveals how the object “left prominent ground traces which were subsequently photographed and measured,” while the woman’s eyesight was adversely affected.

The letter adds how her general well-being was so disturbed “her GP advised her to stay off work for a fortnight.”
