Olympic hopefuls from across the country will descend on Oldbury when it hosts a national weightlifting championships.
Ninety youngsters will compete in the British Schools Weightlifting Championships which takes place at Oldbury College of Sport on Saturday March 7.
Sandwell’s Mayor councillor Bob Price and John Spellar MP will be among the dignitaries watching the event.
Among those competing will be Commenwealth Youth Games winner Zoe Smith, who was recently voted British Olympic Association junior athlete of the year.
