A pet show at a Halesowen vets has raised cash for animals injured in the Australian bush fires.

Vets4Pets, Stourbridge Road, held the show on Saturday April 25 to mark National Pet Month.

Categories for dogs included the cleanest ears, shiniest coat, most sparkly teeth and the longest down stay.

Cash raised, which totalled £135, will be split between National Pet Month and RSPCA Australia which is helping pets and wildlife injured in the bush fires.

This cause was chosen because the fires occured close to the home of vet Mike Hanna's parents who live in Victoria, Australia.

National Pet Month is a charity which promotes responsible pet ownership.

The practise said the show was a great success and thanked all of its clients who participated, sponsors of the event and judges Shirley Little and Nikki Brown.

Prizes included Flea and worm treatment, Vets4Pets gift vouchers and microchips.
